“What will we talk about?” is usually about the third question a potential Neighborhood Cafe hostess asks.

There are endless, excellent women’s Bible studies for you to choose from, but here are some I personally recommend:
Anything by Proverbs 31 Ministries
I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of the Proverbs 31 authors, and I can attest that they are women seeking God’s own heart. In particular, I recommend:
- Becoming More than a Good Bible Study Girl by Lysa TerKeurst
- Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner: The Transforming Power of God’s Story by Wendy Blight
- When Your Child is Hurting: Helping Your Child Survive the Ups and Downs of Life by Glynnis Whitwer
- Good Girls Don’t Have to Dress Bad: A Style Guide for Every Woman by Shari Braendel
- The Complete Guide to Getting and Staying Organized by Karen Ehman
What’s up with Bible studies about fashion and home organization? I love these topics for a Neighborhood Cafe because they’re interesting and applicable to every woman and take a lighthearted approach to understanding and applying God’s word in our everyday lives.
Anything by Jennifer Rothschild
Blind since the age of 15, Jennifer Rothschild has a signature wit and poignant story-telling style that will help you learn to look beyond your circumstances to find unique “gifts” in unusual packaging.
- Self Talk, Soul Talk: What to Say When You Talk to Yourself
- Walking By Faith: Lessons Learned in the Dark
Pure Purpose
Discover Pure Purpose – in the midst of your experiences, questions, and relationships – and discover who God is and what he intends for your life. Finding the answers won’t be easy. You’ll need to commit to digging into God’s Word and looking in the mirror at the reflection of the woman God intends you to become. You’ll be challenged to apply what you’re learning in everyday life. Susan Lawrence wrote this curriculum you can start on your own or with a small group.
Other Women’s Bible Study Resources

I already have my coupon to buy this set to start a women’s small group in the fall, but free is better than any coupon(=.
There are two studies I highly recommend. One is the Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie O Martian. And the other is a Wife After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George. Both are uplifting and encouraging to any wife. Whether you are struggling in your marriage or whether you are still honeymooning(=. They give great tips to being the partner God desires us to be to our husbands.
I would recommend any study by Juanita Purcell. We’ve used several of hers and have gained so much from them. The one we are using right now is on Trials and Tribulations. We all have them and she gives you the tools to examine them and how to make it through.
Wow! What a wonderful recommendation for what sounds like a great study. I love the title! I’m a co-director for our women’s ministry as well as a Bible study leader who is always searching for new studies both online and through personal recommendation from people I trust. And The Neighborhood Cafe is certainly a trusted recommendation. I pray that whomever receives this free offer will be greatly blessed by it as well a great blessing to The Neighborhood Cafe. You’ve been a great inspiration to me both in my neighborhood and in my church. Thanks so much for this wonderful offer and recommendations.
Thanks, ladies! Sharing our personal picks is often the best way to learn new things, from Bible studies to shoe sales! I appreciate your comments, and I appreciate YOU!
I have done a lot of studies by Beth Moore that I enjoyed very much!
Esther
Breaking Free
Stepping Up
Revelation
Daniel
Also 2 by Kelly Minter:
Ruth
No Other gods
I have grown immensely and learned so much from my Bible studies. I thank God for leading me to them for each and every one has touched my life right where I needed it at that time…funny how that happens isn’t it?
Love and blessings to all! 🙂
We just started You’re Designed to Shine by Christina DiMari, it’s fun and a bit untraditional and there are cute charms you can get along with it too through Group Publishing.
I love Lisa Whelchel books! I just finished a small group at my home reading the book Taking Care of the Me in Mommy! So great & super helpful book! I’ve read it 3 times now & reading with a group really helped & brought up alot more great tips & ideas!
I just finished leading “The Frazzled Female” by Cindi Wood. Wonderful study for summer. Each day is very short but very packed with self-analysis and then wonderful applications. It is applicable to every woman, no matter what her life looks like. We had several new women in our group and by the end of the six weeks they were connected to some of our veteran ladies. AWESOME!
I am getting ready to do “Princess Unaware” by Brenda Garrison on my own.
I have recently did the Beth Moore study on Esther, it was great! Was the first time I had done a study like that!
Though they are not “bible” studies, I enjoyed going through a couple books with a group of stay at home moms. Professionalizing Motherhood, and My Hearts At Home, both by Jill Savage, are great studies that are non-believer friendly.
Love Lysa!!!
I love Beth Moore Bible Studies and the Precept Ministries Studies (Kay Arthur). Both of these women do an excellent job of relating to the women taking their studies and encouraging you to dig into the WORD and apply it to your daily life.
I recommend “Lord, Only You Can Change Me” by Kay Arthur. Any of her Bible studies are very enriching and inspiring. I learn alot from her studies.
(But, I have to admit I am an all-time fan is Beth Moore, which someone has already posted. I think because she relates so much with women today and brings out more from the Bible.)
I love the big three: Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore and Kay Arthur. I also like Cindy McMennimen, Sheila Walsh and Elizabeth George. However, anything which inspires me I like to use to inspire others.
I like Angela Thomas, Jennifer Rothschild, Beth Moore, Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shirer.
Love, love, love these comments! The winner will be chosen on Monday, August 16–keep ’em coming!
I just joined your blog. I am involved in Women’s Ministries at our church and can see that your blog will be very helpful to our church! Thanks!
